The 23-year-old came through the ranks at SkyBet League One side Sheffield Wednesday and spent the 2019/20 season on loan in League Two with the sadly now defunct Macclesfield Town and was named runner-up in the Silkmen’s player of the year award after making 34 appearances and scoring one goal.

Kirby made his debut for the Owls in April 2018 having joined the Yorkshire side’s academy in 2011, going on to sign professional terms in October 2015 before his time at Hillsborough came to an end in June.

The Barnsley-born player also had loan spells at National League outfit Altrincham in 2021/22, playing 11 times and netting 2 goals.
