Campbell (pictured) moves to Dales Lane following his release by League Two neighbours Walsall.
The
19-year-old is an exciting winger who joined Walsall’s academy as an under-10
and excelled in the Saddler’s youth system.
He
has won academy player of the year four times in a row and also made his
under-18 debut aged just 14.
Pics`
manager Liam McDonald told his club’s website: “He’s a lad of undoubted talent
and ability who was on the books of Walsall
“He’s
played in a couple of friendlies for us and done really well.
“He
certainly looks the part, and I am looking forward to working with him.
“He’s
a local lad who has displayed a tremendous attitude and he has the potential to
be an important and exciting player for us.”
It
had been announced in June that Atherton had signed for the Pics` league rivals
Bromsgrove Sporting.
However,
as is often the case, it’s never a done deal until the form is officially
signed!
Atherton
moves to Olympic from Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side
Chasetown.
The
pacey wide man, formerly with Uttoxeter Town, joined the Pics` league rivals
Alvechurch in June 2019.
He
had followed manager Darren Byfield from Walsall Wood to Church and then
followed the former Aston Villa man back to Wood in 2020 before joining
Chasetown in October 2021. |
