Elito (pictured) is an experienced 32-year-old midfielder who joins from National League side
Wealdstone.
He
had signed for the Stones in the summer of 2021 from league rivals Barnet,
where he had been since July 2018.
Born
in DR Congo, he has spent the most part of his career in England.
At
a young age, he made the move to Colchester, spending his teenage years
progressing through United’s academy.
In
May 2007, he was handed his first professional contract with the U’s and went
on to make 24 appearances.
During
the back end of his time at Colchester, he was sent out on loan to Cheltenham
Town and Dagenham & Redbridge before signing a permanent deal with the
latter.
He
featured 136 times for the Daggers, scoring 20 goals across 3 seasons.
He
then swapped England for the Netherlands in the summer of 2014, joining
VVV-Venlo in the Eerste Divisie, making over 30 appearances in his only
campaign with the Dutch outfit.
The
Zaire-born midfielder then returned to England during the summer of 2015,
signing for Newport County.
He
played 43 matches for the Exiles before joining Cambridge United ahead of the
following campaign.
During
his two-season spell at the Abbey Stadium, he bagged 11 goals in 66
appearances.
Following
his release from the club at the end of the 2017/18 season, he spent a short
spell on trial with Barnet before earning a contract.
Dunne
is another experienced recruit.
The
32-year-old signs from National League side Southend United.
He
had joined the Shrimpers in June 2021 from National League rivals Barnet, where
he had been since July 2019.
The
box-to-box midfielder has a wealth of experience having represented a number of
clubs across the Football League.
Kicking
his career off with Arsenal, he went onto play for the likes of Exeter City,
for whom he made 110 appearances, Stevenage, Portsmouth, Cambridge United and
Swindon Town, for whom he appeared 69 times with one goal to his name. |
