Eighteen-year-old
Hoyle, who has progressed into the development squad from the under-18s this
summer, has recently signed a two-year deal with the Cod Army also holding an
option for a further year.
The
defender arrived from Bury at under-16 level and had worked his way through
the academy, being a pivotal member of the under-18s squad throughout his two
years at the club.
Hughes (pictured),
an 18-year-old left-back, recently arrived at Bloomfield Road to initially
link-up with the Seasider’s development squad after being released by Portsmouth.
He
made his Pompey debut in November 2021 against Crystal Palace under-21s in the
Papa John’s Trophy.
He
was also named on the bench four times, including League One fixtures at
Wycombe Wanderers and at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
Hughes
featured in Pompey reserves’ progress to the quarter finals of the Hampshire
Senior Cup, before a 4-0 defeat at Farnborough in February.
He
joined Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Bognor Regis Town on loan in
December, making 14 appearances for the Rocks.
However,
at the end of his two-year scholarship with Pompey’s academy, he was released
at the season’s end.
