The 28-year-old returns to the Steelmen from Southern League Premier Division Central side Ilkeston Town, who he joined in May from new league rivals Coalville Town.

Thomas signed for the Ravens in October 2018 from King`s Lynn Town.

The pacey full-back previously played for Corby, Loughborough Dynamo and Solihull Moors.

Corby manager Lee Attenborough told https://www.corbytown.co.uk: "This is a statement signing for Corby Town at this moment in time to attract a player of Kalern's quality back to the club. Some fans will remember Kalern had a successful spell at Corby in his younger days and became a bit of a fan's favourite being part of a promotion-winning squad. He has since gone on to play football in the National League and then regularly at Step 3 over the past few seasons being a mainstay in a very strong Coalville Town side.

“I had a conversation with Kalern over the summer to try and bring him in and he expressed how much he enjoyed his time at Corby but he had already agreed a deal with newly promoted Ilkeston Town. Football is all about timing - I have kept tabs on him since and due to a change in circumstances, I struck whilst the iron was hot and managed to get him signed.

“He is a pure powerhouse and will add more physicality to our back line, which I feel you need to be successful in this league. He's good on the ball, an excellent 1v1 defender and loves to get forward with pace. It's certainly a signing that we are excited about. He's also a former team-mate of mine- we were at Quorn together when Kalern was only 17/18 and I know from first-hand experience that he is a top lad, and his personality will fit straight into the group. He is exactly the sort of character I like to work with and brings experience and quality from a higher level”.
