Hogg, only 26, has decided to call time on his playing career, maybe only temporarily, due to a series of injuries.

He has been with the Ducks for eight seasons, making 185 appearances and scoring 23 goals since signing from Tring Athletic in 2015.

Joining the club are forward Joseph Chidyausiku (pictured) and young midfielder Jack Moriarty.

Chidyausiku is a 24-year-old who joins the Ducks from Isthmian Premier Division leaders Aveley where he was on dual registration with Vanarama National League South side Braintree Town, where he had been since the summer of 2021.

He spent 2021/22 on dual registration with Farnborough. Beaconsfield Town and Aveley.

He had joined Braintree in the summer of 2021 from National League South rivals St Albans City where he had been since June 2020 and also signed dual forms with Isthmian South Central outfit Northwood.

He started the 2019/20 season in the National League North with Bradford Park Avenue, who he signed for in late August 2019.

He spent time with Havant & Waterlooville in the National League in 2018/19.

He was previously with Boreham Wood, Hadley, Dunstable Town, Rayners Lane, Bedfont Sports and Romford.

He first moved to the Horsfall Stadium in pre-season and featured against Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday, scoring against the latter.

He went on to train elsewhere and then joined Avenue on non-contract terms before returning south in October 2019 to have a short spell with National League South side Chelmsford City and then join Isthmian South Central outfit Bracknell Town in December 2019 and then St Albans.

Moriarty is a 20-year-old who had only joined Southern Premier Division Central side Bedford Town in August 2022 from Spartan South Midlands League side Potton United.

He had joined Potton via a short spell with Berkhamsted Raiders, having arrived at Bedford’s league rivals Kings Langley in the summer of 2021.

He came through the ranks at League Two Stevenage and accepted a scholarship in late 2017 to begin full-time at Stevenage for the 2018/19 season upon completion of his GCSEs.

He became a regular in Boro`s under-18s and gained experience in the Southern League in 2019/20 with a loan spell with Division One Central outfit Biggleswade FC.
