A
short statement from the club reads: "It is with regret that we have to
announce the resignation of our manager, Keiren Gudgeon. We would like to thank
Keiren for the hard work and commitment that he has shown in the short time
since he arrived at Rocester and we sincerely wish him all the very best for
the future."
Taking
over the role is Mark Wilson, who is no stranger to the club having managed
them before back in 2014/15.
The
former goalkeeper played for Ilkeston Town, Gresley Rovers, Lincoln United,
Mickleover Sports and Borrowash Victoria before hanging up his gloves.
His
time in the dug-out has been spent at Borrowash, South Normanton Athletic and
Rocester.
The
club statement continued: "Following on from Keiren's resignation, Rocester
are pleased to announce the appointment of former Romans' manager, Mark Wilson.
We welcome Mark back to the club and wish him every success going
forward!"
Speaking
of his appointment, Wilson said: “I'm happy to be back home! got a great
feeling when I came back through the building, but it's time to roll our
sleeves and get this team performing at a better level, it will be a lot of
hard work and sacrifice and we need the right characters.
"It
won't be overnight, but I am looking forward to getting to work! Matt Nutt has
been promoted to first team coach and I thank him and Mark Grimley for their
help as I start back at the club!”
