Shayman Loaned to League Rivals

FC Halifax Town have announced that midfielder Sam Smart has joined Vanarama National League rivals Dagenham & Redbridge on a month’s loan.

Smart joined the Shaymen this summer from another league rival, Eastleigh, and has made 2 league starts this season and 4 as sub.

The 23-year-old made 27 appearances in the National League last season.

He began his career playing for various local clubs before earning a move to Portsmouth and featured in their community development team.

The winger went on to join Basingstoke Town where he scored 20 goals in 41 appearances during the 2017/18 season.

In 2019, Smart made the move to Eastleigh and played over 100 games for the south coast side in all competitions.

Last season, Smart spent a short spell on loan at Havant & Waterlooville between February and March, making 4 appearances in the National League South.
