Both make the switch to the Snows Stadium following successful loan spells from their Vanarama National League South neighbours Havant & Waterlooville. Read, 25, had signed for the Hawks in May 2019 as part of a new young player lead directive which new manager Paul Doswell wanted to achieve. He signed for the club from Wessex League side Horndean. In 2019, he had a trial at then-Championship side Sheffield United, although unsuccessful, it shows the ability he carries as he looks to take the next step up the pyramid. In joining the Stags, Read is re-united with younger brother Freddie. Searle (pictured) is a vastly experienced 37-year-old keeper who re-joined the Hawks in July 2021 having re-signed for Wessex League side Baffins Milton Rovers in May 2020 from Southern Premier Division South outfit Salisbury. He had joined the Whites in October 2019 from Isthmian League Premier Division side Bognor Regis Town, who he had signed for in July 2019 from the Whites. He originally joined Salisbury in June 2017 from Havant. He returned to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium after an excellent first spell on loan in the club’s inaugural season of 2015/16 when he helped the Whites to the Wessex League title and the semi-final of the FA Vase with some outstanding displays. As well as Salisbury, he also had loan spells with AFC Totton and Petersfield Town whilst on the Hawks` books. Searle is also an accomplished goalkeeper coach. (Photo: John Rose)
