| The 20-year-old came through the Plymouth Argyle academy, having first joined the Home Park youth system as an under-13.
He made his senior debut for the Pilgrims against Norwich City under-21s in the Papa Johns Trophy in September 2020.
The Ivybridge-born centre-back gained further experience in loan stints with Barnstaple Town and Truro City before making his League debut in a 3-1 defeat to Sunderland in May 2021.
Tomlinson was released by Argyle at the end of last season and was soon snapped up by Torquay but has found opportunities limited under the management of Gary Johnson and assistant Aaron Downes at Plainmoor, especially with the Gulls fighting hard to escape the relegation zone.
