Clarke was released by NPL Premier Division side Warrington Town last week, having made 42 appearances since his debut in November 2020. He has been plagued by two serious injuries over recent seasons but is now returning to full fitness after missing the opening months of the 2022/23 season. The 24-year-old joined the Yellows having left League One side Fleetwood Town in October 2020 after his contract was terminated by mutual consent. He joined the Cod Army from Tranmere Rovers in June 2018 and was former boss Joey Barton’s first signing as manager. He made 5 appearances for the club, with his debut coming in the EFL Trophy clash against Leicester City under-21s. He also spent time on loan with Macclesfield Town and Stockport County during 2019/20 and signed dual forms for Cymru Premier side Flint Town United in January 2021.
