Longhurst joins the Hillians from Isthmian Premier Division side Billericay Town where he was the first team coach. Longhurst was appointed as manager of the Hillians` league rivals Ramsgate in December 2019. He led them into the play-offs in just two seasons before resigning last April. Longhurst had previously been in charge of East Grinstead Town for four years. Appointed in October 2015, Longhurst left the Wasps 5 points adrift at the bottom of the table with just 5 points on the board on December 12th. They’d failed to win any of their first 14 league outings. Longhurst, who stood down as Wasps boss in March 2017 to become assistant manager at Hastings United before returning within two weeks to retake the helm, guided East Grinstead to a 13th-place finish in 2018/19 - the highest placing in their history.
