The UEFA B licenced coach is back for his second spell, having helped steer Boro to promotion from Step 4 in 2016/17 and then consolidating at Step 3 in the following seasons. Manager Spencer Day’s former assistant departed in September 2020 due to personal reasons, but has remained a good friend of the club since and Day is delighted to reveal Reed’s homecoming. Reed is no stranger amongst the Farnborough fanbase and will now link-up with fellow coaches Ricky Holmes, James Gray and Dave Hill in the dug-out. Having previously been assistant manager of Leighton Town and in charge at Barton Rovers, the 45-year-old brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. Back in 2019, Reed also managed the Bedfordshire FA side that took on Paul Fairclough’s England C side at Kenilworth Road. Day told https://farnborough: “We’re delighted to welcome Jon back to our management team. I’ve been trying to get him back since the day he left and the club is very pleased he’s been able to find a way back as I know we’ve missed each other! “In the National League South we need to strengthen in all areas and he will only be an asset moving forward. “Regrettably, I have to announce that Leigh Dynan has decided to step away due to heavy work commitments with his successful business and home life where something had to give and sadly it’s us. “I hope he will want to return (again!) in due course, but in the meantime we thank him and wish him all the best in everything”.
