Having joined West Ham United from London rivals Chelsea in 2009, first-team appearances in both the Premier League and Championship with the Hammers was supplemented further with numerous loan spells, in addition to winning England caps at both under-17 and under-19 level. After gaining further experience of senior football during temporary spells with the likes of West Bromwich Albion, Charlton Athletic and Gillingham amongst others, permanent moves to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Coventry City followed, before he headed to China to sign for Tianjin Songjiang. Upon his return to English shores in 2016, the imposing forward went on to represent Newport County, Plymouth Argyle and Colchester United with distinction, with his recent departure from the latter paving the way for a move to Plainmoor. Having clocked up over 400 appearances, and notched over 60 goals during that period, it’s little wonder why 31-year-old Nouble had a whole host of clubs chasing him, and therefore United boss Gary Johnson was understandably delighted to have won the race to clinch the signature of the Lewisham-born frontman for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign. “It’s great news that our club has managed to secure the services of Frank Nouble,” Johnson told https://torquayunited.com. “Talks have been ongoing, and we’re pleased to say that Frank’s agreed to join us. The club have worked very hard to make it happen, and to bring in someone at this stage, as experienced as Frank is, is no mean feat. “Frank undoubtedly had a few options, and we’re glad he’s decided to take the opportunity to come to us. At 31, he’s had a lot of experience out there, and is not only an influence on the pitch, but will be well-respected in the dressing room”.
