On the announcement of his signing, McKenzie told https://www.hemelfc.com: "The last few months have been unbelievable and I've enjoyed my time and when it was offered it was a no brainer really". The full back has been ever-present in the side since making his debut at the end of February after arriving from Essex Senior League side Woodford Town and manager Brad Quinton was over the moon to secure his services for next season. "I'm really excited that Montel is joining us for next season. He's a very good talent and he's very good with the ball, off the ball and a very good prospect for us. I'm really chuffed to have him on board as it helps my ambitions for the club and we'll be sure to develop and push him next season".
