The statement on https://www.hernebayfootballclub.co.uk reads: “We would like to make it clear that Chairman Stuart Fitchie was asked to stand down, following numerous promises being made, without consultations with his fellow directors, promises which the club were not able to honour. “Our club secretary and head of media, for one, has had to stand down because the club cannot fulfil the promise made to him. The players, and management team, are putting in a valiant effort to avoid relegation, despite receiving little or any monies for several weeks. The clubhouse needs a lot of work to complete, and the contractor appointed is not prepared to finish the works. “The club finds itself in a very difficult situation, but the directors and new management committee are working to correct this situation and get us back on an even keel”.
