Eight players have been released by the club, whilst a further four have been offered contract extensions with Neal Ardley’s side. One surprise departure is that of defender Alex Gudger (pictured), who has become a cult hero with the club, making 162 appearances in all competitions, but his future now lies elsewhere. Joining Gudger is experienced trio Ben Coker, Joey Jones and Callum Whelan. Coker was a first-team regular, before suffering an injury setback. Meanwhile, Whelan has spent the last few months with fellow National League side Gateshead. Finishing the list is recently arrived left-back Junior Tiensia as well as trio Ethan Vaughan, Reiss McNally and Matt Preston. Four players have been offered new deals by the club. Firstly, goalkeeper Ryan Boot has suffered with several injuries this campaign, but has been another cult hero. Meanwhile, the club’s player of the season, James Clarke, has been offered an extension, despite being under contract. Winger Justin Donawa has also been offered fresh terms, after triggering his one-year option last summer. Finally, Scotsman Andrew Dallas has also been offered a new contract, despite having his heart set on a move to the Football League. The Moors currently have eight players under contract for next season, not including James Clarke. These are; Callum Howe, Joe Sbarra, Josh Kelly, Callum Maycock, Jamey Osborne, Jack Stevens, Mark Beck and Max Brogan. Manager Neal Ardley told the club’s website: “We just need to work out what to do around the players that will be here next season to have a real good go at it. “We’ve analysed where it’s gone wrong for us and now, we need to have a strong summer to be able to turn this around. “As always, I’d like to thank all the players who have featured for us this season and I sincerely wish them all the very best of luck for the future”.
