The 37-year-old took over the reins from Thomas Baillie in October 2022 following some indifferent results, most notably a 7-1 hammering by Leiston on October 15th at the Victoria Ground. The vastly experienced McGrath re-joined the Rouslers as a player in March 2022. He played a major part in the uprising of phoenix club Hereford FC after joining the Bulls in September 2016. His other previous clubs include Kettering Town, who he played for in the Vanarama National League North, Redditch United, Kidderminster Harriers, Rushall Olympic, Stratford Town, Hednesford Town and Irish outfits Galway United and Sligo Rovers. McGrath’s major task was to keep Sporting in the Premier Division Central which, in the end, he did with a 9-point cushion over the relegated teams.
