The 29-year-old pens a one-year contract with the Iron after departing new league rivals King's Lynn Town, where he was their long-term captain and had spent the last eight seasons, skippering them to promotion from the Southern League and National League South in his time there. Clunan moved to the Linnets from Dereham Town May 2015. Joining Norwich City's academy in the summer of 2010, he had previously been with the Canaries since the age of 8. He was retained at the end of the 2011/12 season to play in the under-21 development squad but was released by Norwich in the summer of 2013. He next joined Boston United where he made two appearances before moving on to then-Conference North rivals Histon in October 2013. He played 20 games for Histon in the 2013/14 season before joining Lowestoft Town at the end of August 2014, but his stay was very brief after the Trawlerboys decided not to offer him a contract. He then joined Dereham before making the switch to the Linnets, who he helped to two promotions.
