Having joined the Reds in the summer of 2021, he has gone on to establish himself as one of the best players in his position at Southern League Premier Central level and now he is relishing the opportunity to make the step up and continue his superb progress. The 31-year-old joined Redditch from then-Midland League Premier Division side Coventry United. The left back was originally with the Strachan Football Foundation before signing for Coventry United for the first time in the summer of 2016. He moved on to Rugby Town in December 2016 before re-joining United for a second time in the summer of 2017. In November 2017 he joined another Midland League outfit, Racing Club Warwick, before signing for rivals Coventry Sphinx in July 2018. He returned to the Red & Greens in the summer of 2019 and in total made 71 appearances for United, scoring 2 goals. Manager Liam McDonald told https://www.rofc.co.uk: “I am delighted to have been able to secure Lewis’ signature. “He was easily the best left-back in our division last season and I am excited to be able to work with him here. “He brings plenty of pace and energy and is fantastic at 1v1 defending. “He jumped at the chance to test himself in the Vanarama National League North and work with us at this level. “I’ve had him on my radar for a couple of seasons and have always admired his style of play and attitude. His talent and ability will push us on”.
