The striker joins from the Norfolk side and was top scorer for the Shannocks with 24 goals in 40 games last season. He notably netted in the Emirates FA Cup to set up a Second Qualifying Round tie with the Marketmen after beating fellow Suffolk side Lowestoft Town. A big strong centre-forward with lots of experience at this level, he previously played for Mulbarton Wanderers and Great Yarmouth Town. More good news for Marketmen supporters is that Patrick Brothers will remain at Bloomfields for the foreseeable future, having put pen-to-paper on a new deal. Signed during the 2021/22 season, Brothers has gone on to be a real fans favourite, notably scoring some important goals - one of which coming in the FA Cup against Leiston. He was in top form during the 2022/23 season, as he surpassed 50 appearances for the club, before a nasty injury towards the end of the season cruelly ended his season prematurely. Brothers' recovery is going smoothly, as the midfielder targets a return to action early in the upcoming 2023/24 season. Jamie McGrath has also committed his long-term future to the club. Signed at the start of the 2022/23 season from East Bergholt United where he was top scorer in the league with 56 goals in the 2021/22 season. The Marketmen were delighted to secure his signature and he showed just why he scored so many goals with the chances and goals he scored, but unfortunately an injury put a stop to his season early which was disappointing for all concerned. Kyle Hammond has also committed his long term future with the Marketmen after signing a long-term deal. Since joining at the start of 2021/22 season Hammond has been excellent with his consistent performances wherever he has been asked to play either in midfield or full back. His energy and all action displays have made him a very influential player in the team and a fans` favourite, and we are delighted he remains at Bloomfields for seasons to come. Meanwhile, young forward Hugh Cullum is joining Thurlow Nunn league Premier Division side Thetford Town on loan. The 19-year-old product of Needham Market’s youth academy, he has developed into a very good player following excellent performances in the under-18 and reserve teams and was handed his first contract in 2021. He was also the only player from Suffolk to be selected for England under-18 Schoolboys squads throughout the 2021/22 season.
