Blues Return for Sykes
Bishop's Stortford, switched to the Vanarama National League North, have announced the signing of striker George Sykes for the 2023/24 season.

Sykes enjoyed two loan spells with the Blues early in his career and re-joins the club after a prolific stint with Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division side Aveley. The 28-year-old started his career with Barnet where he made his senior debut at the age of 17 against Bristol Rovers in August 2012. A former apprentice of the year, he had loan spells with the likes of Bishop`s Stortford, Farnborough, St Albans City and Canvey Island whilst with the Bees before joining Dartford in June 2015 after his release. He had two successful periods with Canvey Island, scoring 43 goals in 92 games sandwiched by a less successful time at Braintree Town in 2017. He signed for Canvey Island on July 2017 and switched to league rivals Aveley in the summer of 2021.
