| The defender has amassed a significant amount of games at Step 4 and 5 level, representing Leighton Town and Berkhamsted over the last decade.
He has signed an agreement, which will see him play at The Eyrie this coming season.
The 27-year-old started his career as a striker. However, he soon developed into a defender who predominantly plays at right back but can also play in midfield.
In 2012, he signed for Berkhamsted before moving on to Leighton in 2015.
Throughout that time, he made 378 appearances, scoring 46 goals.
Making over 200 appearances for Leighton, including 36 in their `double` winning season under new Bedford boss Lee Bircham last season, he has a strong history of success at Step 5 and Step 4.
Speaking to the club’s website, director Jon Taylor and manager Lee Bircham said: "He is renowned for allocating the right back berth and with his energy and versatility, he will have pace and power in this position. He will be one of the fittest players on the pitch. We look forward to seeing him in a Bedford shirt."
Towell joins goalkeeper Nathan McDonald in having signed agreements to play for the club in the coming season.
Alongside retained contracted players Connor Tomlinson, Elliot Duffy and Josh Page.
