The 31-year old had moved to the Canaries in the summer of 2020 from Vanarama National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town. He had signed for the Tudors in May 2018 from then-league rivals Concord Rangers. He has a wealth of experience and made 225 appearances for the Beachboys and netted 88 goals. He signed for Concord back in September 2013 from Bishop`s Stortford and was previously with Potters Bar Town, Hoddesdon Town and Chesham United before joining the Blues in 2012. His best goalscoring season came in 2015/16 when he notched 24 times for Concord from 49 games. Assistant Manager Ben Greenhalgh linked up with Cawley during his time at Concord Rangers and is looking forward to linking up once again at Hartsdown Park. He told http://www.margate-fc.co.uk: “Steve will bring everything we need and wanted. I didn’t think he would be on the cards, but luckily we had some discussions and we are delighted to get him to Margate.” “In terms of strikers he is one of the best I have ever played with for the way me and him linked up. Steve is a very tactical player and we had a great partnership going at Concord Rangers”.
