Charismatic attacking midfielder Rooney returns for his third spell with the White Tigers following his recent departure from former Pitching In Southern League Premier Division South rivals and ground landlords Plymouth Parkway. The 24-year-old joined Truro in October 2019. The younger brother of White Tigers` striker Louis Rooney, has played for Truro before on loan from Plymouth Argyle. He had joined National League South outfit Bath City on a short-term deal in August after spending pre-season with beleaguered Bury. When the Shakers failed to start the season, eventually being expelled from the Football League, he headed back south to Twerton Park. He transferred to Truro’s then-league rivals Plymouth Parkway in June 2022. Following Rooney from Parkway is 25-year-old Palfrey. He had left Truro for Parkway in the summer of 2019 after a successful loan spell during the 2018/19 season. He started out with Plymouth Argyle and had a loan spell with Torquay United whilst on the Home Park club`s books. He signed for Truro in January 2019, having had a six-month loan spell at Treyew Road in 2017/18. Defender James Melhado (pictured) joins Truro following his departure from SkyBet League Two side Salford City. The 22-year-old full back started his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers before having subsequent spells with both Burton Albion and Newcastle Town. He joined Salford on a two-year contract in 2021. He spent last season away from the club with a number of loan spells - starting the season with Northern Premier League Premier Division side Ashton United before swiftly joining then-National League North outfit AFC Telford United. He finished the season on loan with Telford’s league rivals Hereford FC but his time with the Bulls was cut short due to injury.
