Striker Tom Kilifin (pictured) joins the Shakers ahead of the 2023/24 season. The 30-year-old scored 33 goals in 44 games for Bury’s league rivals Kendal Town last season. He returned to the Mintcakes last summer but the experienced attacker is perhaps best known for his spells with Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division side Lancaster City, where he is in the Dolly Blues` `Hall of Fame`, having made 242 appearances, scoring 68 goals. In between stints at Lancaster and Kendal, he has also been with Northwich Victoria and Workington AFC. Bury boss Andy Welsh has also snapped up vastly experienced defender Carl Dickinson. The 36-year-old started his career at Stoke City and had loan spells at Icelandic club Víkingur and Blackpool before helping the Potters to win promotion into the Premier League in 2007/08. He then dropped out of the first team picture, and spent time on loan at Leeds United, Barnsley, and Portsmouth. He was sold to Watford for a £250,000 fee in July 2011 and was a first team regular in the 2011/12 campaign. However, he fell out of favour the following season and was loaned out to Portsmouth and Coventry City before being allowed to join Port Vale in July 2013. He spent three years with Vale, and also served as club captain, before he moved on to Notts County for a two-year spell in June 2016. He joined Yeovil Town in June 2018 and made 104 league and cup appearances over a three-year spell. He was appointed as player-manager at Hanley Town and led the club to the Midland League Premier Division title in the 2021/22 season. He joined Southern Premier Division Central side Stratford Town as a player in November 2022 and in February 2023 he moved a little further north by joining Northern Premier League Premier Division outfit Nantwich Town.
