Young midfielder Kye Billingham-Belle has joined Lye from new league rivals Sutton Coldfield Town. The box-to-box player came through the Royals` under-18s and signed first team forms in January 2022. Lye manager Grant Joshua told https://lyetownfc.net: “Kye is only 18 and just out of youth team football but was starting at Step 4 at the age of 16 with Sutton Coldfield under Ross Thorpe. “He’s another outstanding talent who we've fought off competition for from other Step 4 teams in our league. We have a certain profile we need and look to bring in, Kye's another example of that system and plan. He's physically developed for 18 and I'm convinced he'll hit the ground running. He'll only benefit from the experienced lads he will have around him.” Lye further bolstered their squad with the signing of young centre-half Jack Bostock (pictured) from North West Counties League Division One South side Brocton. In January, Bostock was selected for the England Schoolboys under-18 squad. He made his first team debut for Brocton last season and has made over 30 senior appearances. Joshua added: “We’re really happy to have signed Jack. He’s a boy with outstanding potential, only 18 but had a real successful season at Brocton and to make 30-plus starts at centre-half is impressive. “His representation for England is no mistake and outlines his quality. I’m pleased he’s a part of that successful organisation. “Very comfortable on the ball, quick and is aggressive so we’ll nurture him into Step 4 but he’s an outstanding talent and one we couldn’t let another 12 months pass as we feel we’ve signed a gem before the bigger clubs started to notice him”.
