The Bury St Edmunds-born 33-year-old came through the ranks at Ipswich Town, and since then has played as high as the Championship, during his nearly four years with Yeovil Town and, following his time as a Glover, with Millwall. After departing the Lions he played for MK Dons and Bristol Rovers, moved across the Severn to turn out for Newport County, and then moved nearer to home with Stevenage, making 31 appearances in 2021/22. He also represented England at under-17 and under-19 level. He enjoyed a very successful season with Stowmarket Town, making 42 appearances and scoring 11 goals. He was also selected in the Isthmian North ‘team of the season’ as voted for by all the managers within the division. Bury manager Cole Skuse told https://www.burytownfc.co.uk: “We were alerted to Ed’s availability following his decision to leave Stowmarket and we were keen to bring him to the club and we are delighted that he has agreed to join us. He has an excellent playing career in professional football behind him and I know from what I have been told that he was a standout player in this division last season. “We were not sure if a deal could be possible but everyone has worked hard to make it happen and we are excited to have another quality player with us for what is a fresh start”.
