The 20-year-old has been on trial with the Dolly Blues in pre-season and was the stand-out performer in the cohort of goalkeepers to earn himself a place in Mark Fell's squad. The Portuguese shot-stopper spent time on loan at NPL Division One West side Colne before playing 10 games at the end of the season for Ashton United. He was on Benfica’s books before joining Morecambe in July 2018. Fell told his club’s website: "Andre has really impressed since coming in to train with us, he fits well within our group and has all the attributes we want from a goalkeeper. He’s had experience in our league and the league below whilst on loan so knows what it’s all about. It’s important that we move quickly to secure him as there has been lots of interest, I’m sure he will quickly become a fan favourite and he’s raring to go".
