Wade takes over with immediate effect, having returned to the Lions for a second spell after guiding Benfield to the First Division title back in the 2008/09 season.
Wade is perhaps best known for his time in charge of Blyth Spartans after taking over the club he supported in 2012 and as well as almost leading them back to Step 2, he also took them to the FA Cup Third Round in 2015 where they narrowly lost to Championship club Birmingham City.
He left Croft Park in September 2016 and was replaced by current boss Alun Armstrong.
Wade then took on the joint-managerial role alongside former England cricketer Steve Harmison at Ashington in May 2017.
Prior to Blyth, Wade was assistant-manager at Harrogate Town and manager of Gateshead and Bedlington Terriers. |
