The
27-year-old, who started his career with Newcastle United, joined Pools in the
summer of 2017 following his release by Cambridge United and made 40
appearances with 3 goals after scoring one goal in 58 games in two seasons for
the U's, having moved from Rotherham United in 2015.
His most
successful stint came in two loan spells from Newcastle to St Mirren, where he
won the Scottish League Cup in 2013.
Whickham
have also signed former Sunderland academy defender Tom Howard.
The
full-back also gained experience in the Northern League last season for Sunderland
RCA.
Manager
Robin Falcus said: “I’m delighted to have signed Tom. He’s an 18-year-old
full-back, who has come from Sunderland’s academy. He was very close to getting
a deal with them.
“The
biggest thing for me is that he’s a modern day full-back. One minute he’s up
there attacking and getting crosses in. The next minute he’s back making
tackles in your 18-yard box”. |
