Blackman was appointed in February with Ant Christophi as his number two.

Blackman issued a statement which reads: “I reluctantly step down as Ampthill Town manager and would like to thank chairman Gary Maidment for the opportunity. We’ve achieved a lot in a short space of time, a top ten finish and a cup final last year, with young players coming through this year. Also, a massive thanks to Anthony Christophi and Stuart Robertson for their help.”

Maidment replied: “After discussions with Paul Blackman, I reluctantly accepted his request to step down from the first team mangers` role. On behalf of the club I would like to thank Paul for the huge impact he has made to the development of the club”.
