The club have placed on record its thanks to Abbott for the time, energy and effort he has put into the job and have wished him every success in the future.

Abbott had been in charge at the Premier Plus Stadium since February and oversaw the club's relegation from the Premier Division last season although a major budget cut led to the departure of many key players ahead of his arrival.

Director of football Matt Clements will oversee Saturday's game against Corby Town along with Sean Greygoose and Matt Joseph.
