Flanagan,
along with joint boss Jamie Coyle, left Vanarama National League South side
Dartford in September 2019 after the Darts had won just twice in 17 outings.
Flanagan
had skippered Dartford between 2007 and 2010, winning the Isthmian League
championships of Division One North and the Premier Division, playing in 135
games.
After
retiring from playing, Flanagan went on to manage Brentwood, guiding them to
promotion from the Isthmian Division One North to the Premier Division.
He
then went on to manage Concord Rangers in the National League South for three
years, winning the Essex Senior Cup.
Flanagan
told https://www.brentwoodtownfc.co.uk:
“I am pleased to be back at Brentwood where my managerial career started. I owe
the club and the players I had a lot as it was a great time and helped propel
me forward onto having four seasons in the National League South.
“I
met with chairman Jez Dickinson earlier this week and he detailed his plans for
the club going forward which are impressive and something I wanted to be a part
of. I hope I can replicate the success I had before and fulfil the ambition
that Jez and the club have”. |
