Last
month the club appointed former Havant & Waterlooville midfielder Shaun
Wilkinson to his first-ever managerial role after Rovers decided to part
company with Steve Leigh.
He
is no stranger to the PMC Stadium, having spent some time helping out Louis
Bell prior to Leigh taking over in early 2018 and has also been
assistant-manager at Gosport Borough.
The
39-year-old has kept coach Gary Haynes, who was part of Leigh’s backroom team,
and has brought in his former Gosport colleague Danny Thompson as assistant
manager.
Thompson
guided Infinity to the top of the Hampshire Premier League last season but
resigned after the FA dashed their promotion hopes by null and voiding Step 7
football.
Wilkinson
has also brought in Matt Jones (pictured) as first team coach.
The
former AFC Totton and Havant midfielder had been assistant boss at Moneyfields
and is a highly rated coach and a Wessex League winner.
Wilkinson
has already strengthened his squad by signing ex-Havant & Waterlooville goalkeeper
Charlie Searle, who helped Steve Claridge’s Salisbury win the Wessex League in
2015/16, one-time Brighton, Pagham and Chichester City defender Ruben French,
former Gosport, Fleetlands and Infinity striker Kurt Watts.
Striker
Matt Andrews, formerly with Winchester City, Fareham Town and Fleetlands, ex-Folland
Sports and Infinity midfielder Charlie Cooper, defender Zak Sharp, previously
with Blackfield & Langley, Moneyfields, Gosport and Horndean and
experienced ex-Gosport and Fareham Town defender or forward Nathan Kirby.
