The club had a wonderful response to the vacant manager`s position following Mark Swann's departure, including two applicants from Ireland.

Following our recruitment process and interviews, the club has announced that Noel Cotterill has been appointed first team manager.

Cotterill said on his appointment: "First of all let me say I am delighted to be appointed FC Darlaston manager and I can't wait to get started.

“I have assembled my backroom staff who are very experienced and dedicated who have different strengths where all of them have many contacts in the game which will be invaluable in our quest to improve the on field fortunes of the club.

“In order to achieve what we all want is that everyone involved at the club to pull together both on and off the field where we can build and develop the club and achieve success.

“I have many contacts in the game and a large pool of players to call upon, which I intend to do.

“I have turned down a few offers from other clubs as this position really excites me and is a fresh start for myself and my team and where we will put our stamp on at the club.

“Speaking to the chief executive and the management committee it is obvious that they are very ambitious in what they want to achieve and again that is important to me.

“Like me they understand that this takes time to set in place, but I am very confident we will achieve our ambitions and goals together in the long term.

“I can assure to everyone involved at the club is that my team and I will be giving 110% to achieve success at the club”.
