Midfielder
Alex Ferguson joins from Vanarama National League South side Chippenham Town.
The
25-year-old signed for Chippenham on a permanent basis back in August 2014.
He
was on loan with the Bluebirds from Swindon Town in the 2013/14 season and also
spent time on loan with Frome Town.
Has
made in excess of 200 appearances for Chippenham.
Strong
commanding centre-half Gareth Thomas has also become a Robin.
Thomas
has a never-say-die attitude, and is extremely good in the air, but also very
comfortable with the ball at his feet.
He
re-joined Southern League Division One South side Thatcham Town in January 2018
from Hungerford Town.
He
had a spell as player-manager of Thatcham in his second spell with the
Kingfishers, for whom he made over 250 appearances.
He
has also served Didcot Town and Abingdon United.
Striker
Ben Markall (pictured) has also signed for the Robins for the coming season.
After
a successful spell as a youngster with Cheltenham Town, Markall was snapped up
by then-Premier League side Stoke City for a fee of £70,000 at the age of 14.
He
later became a youth player at Burton Albion but at the age of 18, he decided
to leave the sport and pursue a professional career.
He
spent some time finding his feet, whilst doing some coaching with Premier
Sport, in advance starting a role with Lloyds Bank.
He
then signed for Hednesford Town, had a short spell with Alvechurch before
joining Solihull Moors in the summer of 2015.
In
February 2016 he joined Tividale and then had spells with Highgate United and,
most recently, West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division side Littleton. |
