Dart said in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to vacate the first team manager`s position at Holsworthy.

“I`d like to thank Tony Bayley and the committee who appointed me six years ago and trusted me at 28 to rebuild the club that was on its knees at the time.

“The biggest thank you goes to chairman Steve Lee. He works incredibly hard for the football club and it wouldn`t be what it is without him and what he does. His support has been unwavering over the years and you won`t meet many better chairmen in local football.

“When I decided to stop playing at 28 after a successful year at Callington and step away from managing and coaching in the women`s game, the opportunity arose to manage my local club.

“It was a poisoned chalice for some and when I took over, I inherited three first team players, the reserves were also down to the bare bones with no manager and there were no under-18 team.

“However, the challenge and opportunity to build a culture, bring sustainability and put into practice what I believed in, using past experiences, was just what I needed and more importantly, the local community and town needed.

“On courses we are often asked `why do you coach?`My `why` for taking on Holsworthy was to challenge the view that locals weren`t good enough and didn`t want to play for Holsworthy. To rebuild the club, focussing on the process rather than the outcomes.

“I believe players play at the level that is accessible to them either through a lack of opportunity or exit routes. During the six years we have consistently had at least nine players in the first team squad of eighteen that came through Holsworthy youth and at its best, fifteen, which is important for the club and the hard work of the youth set up”.
