The 28-year-old defender came through the youth ranks at Bristol Rovers before joining Frome Town, for whom he made 152 appearances over two spells with the Robins.

He moved to Weymouth in the summer of 2015 but left the Terras at the end of the 2016/17 season for Vanarama National League South side Chippenham Town, returning to the Bob Lucas Stadium in August 2017.

He re-joined Frome in June 2019 having spent the 2018/19 season with Southern Division One South rivals Melksham Town.

Mark is the nephew of Corsham club `legend` Mel Cooper.

Cooper told the club`s website: “It was a very tough decision to leave Frome, as I really enjoyed last season and we had a really good chance of winning the league.

“I've been playing Southern League football since I was 17 and the commitment and the travelling that comes with it is as high as ever and it just felt too much for me going into a new season.

“Though saying that I'm really excited about coming to Corsham, it's certainly a club with huge potential and it has a close personal connection to me due to the fact that it`s my dad's home-town club and my uncle Mel is a former player and manager of the club”.
