Centre-back
Edwards and striker Lloyd were both part of the Bromsgrove Sporting side that
went the whole of the 2016/17 Midland Division One campaign unbeaten and
reached the semi-finals of the Buildbase FA Vase, while also finishing top of
the table with Heather St John’s two seasons ago.
Both
Edwards and Lloyd spent last term with league rivals GNP Sports, although
Edwards finished it in the Premier Division with Racing Club Warwick after
moving mid-season.
Edwards (pictured) made more than 100 appearances for Coleshill Town before moving to Bromsgrove,
where he was a regular feature in their title-winning side’s back line and also
chipped in with a valuable 7 goals.
He
left there to return to Coleshill, before helping Smithswood Firs to promotion
from Division Two and then moving to Heather in 2018.
Lloyd,
meanwhile, is a regular name on the scoresheet in Division One and scored the
goal in Hinckley`s pre-season draw at Gresley Rovers.
Over
the last few seasons he has netted 151 goals in 157 starts for the likes of
GNP, Heather, Smithswood, Bromsgrove and Chelmsley Town – including one in
Bromsgrove’s FA Vase quarter-final against Buckland Athletic in 2017.
Ashby
and Weale to join from league rivals Atherstone Town and Midland League Premier
Division side Romulus respectively, adding vast experience of Step 5 and 6 and
higher levels as well as quality in the middle of the park.
Ashby
played 30 times for Atherstone last season as they reached the quarter-finals
of the Vase and has played more than 100 times for the Adders in a number of
spells at Sheepy Road.
A
central player who can also play out wide, he has spent time at higher levels
with Rugby Town, Barwell and Bedworth United too, chipping in with goals
wherever he’s played.
He
also counts Romulus, Nuneaton Griff and Coventry Sphinx among his former clubs.
Meanwhile,
Weale also started at Atherstone before earning his break with Barwell, and
then moving to Coleshill.
There,
he was a pivotal part of the side that recorded three successive top five
finishes in the Premier Division and reached the Vase semi-finals before being
knocked out by eventual winners South Shields.
That
summer he moved to Heather, where he was captain of the side that won promotion
two seasons ago, and links up with AFC after a year with Romulus.
