Defender
Jeremy Arthur joins the Blues from Southern League Premier Division South side
Metropolitan Police.
The
22-year-old signed for the Met in the summer of 2017 after being released by Queens
Park Rangers.
His
performances for the Met soon attracted attention and he trialled with then-League
One Walsall in February 2018.
He
helped the Met to win the Southern South play-off final and promotion to the
Southern Premier South.
The
experienced forward Darelle Russell has also arrived at Grays.
The
30-year-old was on the books at Vanarama National League South outfit Braintree
Town, who he joined in February 2020 following a third spell with Isthmian
South Central side Waltham Abbey.
He
had been a consistent goalscorer throughout his spells with the Abbotts which
began in 2013.
He
has also played for Barking, Cheshunt, Harrow Borough, Billericay Town, Arlesey
Town, AFC Hayes, Haringey Borough and Antigua Barracuda.
The
third new arrival in a busy summer to date for manager Jim Cooper is local Essex
defender Pat Ahern (pictured).
He
broke into Grays` league rivals Witham Town`s first team set up in the 2018
pre-season after stepping up from the reserves and hasn't looked back since.
Strong,
quick and solid, he can play anywhere along the back line and can also be
dangerous at set-pieces in the opposition box as well.
