Chairman Tony Dean said: “Ian and I have been talking for a long time about working together and have been patient to find an opportunity to be at a club with potential. We are coming in with the intention to rebuild confidence and add some experience to a young squad.”

Selley started his playing career with Arsenal and was the youngest player in the Gunners team that won the 1994 European Cup in a victory over Parma.

He broke his leg in a league match against Leicester City which put an end to his time at Arsenal and he moved to Fulham in 1997, but another broken leg shortened his spell at Fulham and he moved to Wimbledon in 2000.

Following a long spell at Woking and a number of non-League clubs, he ended his playing career in the summer of 2012 and was appointed as the new head coach at Arsenal Soccer Schools Dubai.

He returned from Dubai in 2019 and took up a coaching role at Isthmian League South Central Division side Chertsey Town.

Northmore was head coach of Saif Sporting their first season in the Bangladesh Premier League and took them to fourth during in the league and to AFC Cup qualifiers.

He played in the Football League for Torquay United and Yeovil Town and in the Vanarama National League for Woking, Weston-super-Mare and Dorchester Town.

He was director of football and head coach of Weston in the National League South and was recognised for his work developing several players such as Ollie Watkins (on loan from Exeter, now Aston Villa).
