The 33-year-old is a proven goalscorer at non-League level.

He had spells at Bradford Park Avenue, Ossett Town, Bridlington Town and Garforth Town before joining FC United of Manchester in 2013 and become a firm fans favourite.

He joined Hyde United in August 2018 after stepping down as player-manager of FC United where he made 273 appearances and netting 103 goals to make him FC`s leading scorer.

He left the Tigers in October 2018 and joined Northern Premier Division One North West club Ossett United.

Jordan Downing has also joined the club on a month’s loan from Vanarama National League side Stockport County.

The 22-year-old centre-half took part in the behind closed-door friendly on Monday playing for AFC against ironically his parent club.

The necessary paperwork has now been completed to facilitate the loan between the two clubs.
