Wilson arrives from Matlock Town where he was player/assistant manager and brings a wealth of experience from both the professional and non-League game.

The 37-year-old vastly experienced defender signed for Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division Matlock in late January 2020 from rivals Buxton, where he had been since September 2019.

He left then-Vanarama National League side Barrow AFC in the summer of 2019 – a year after moving to the Furness Building Society Stadium.

He boasts over 400 Football League appearances since starting out at Stoke City back in 2002.

He made a handful of appearances for the Potters before joining Cheltenham Town in 2014 and playing over 120 times for the Robins.

A 60-game spell with Bristol City followed before he spent four years and over 150 games with Colchester United and a further 100-plus with Oldham Athletic before joining the Bluebirds.
