Bennett’s
temporary move to the North East includes a recall clause which becomes
available any time after 28 days.
The
30-year-old joined Stockport from League Two side Port Vale in March 2020 for
an undisclosed fee.
He
had signed for the Valiants in June 2019 following a successful loan spell at
Morecambe from his parent club Carlisle United.
He
played 30 times for the Vale in all competitions, scoring 6 goals.
He
started his career with Oldham Athletic but was released at the age of 15 and
embarked on a successful non-League career with the likes of Springhead, Curzon
Ashton, Mossley AFC, Northwich Victoria and Barrow AFC, for whom he scored 22
goals in 53 games.
That
earned him a move to Carlisle United in 2017 and he played 60 times and scored
10 goals, with a 16-game and 5 goal-spell on loan with Morecambe added to that. |
