Julian Dicks has brought striker Dan Walker back to Scraley Road from league
rivals Hullbridge Sports.
The
23-year-old was part of the Swifts` play-off winning side, making 37
appearances and scoring 8 goals after joining in September 2018.
He
signed for Hullbridge in January 2020 from another league rival, Great Wakering
Rovers.
He
started his career as a youth and under-23 player at Southend United, a period
during which he spent time on loan at Aveley.
After
his first spell with Swifts, he moved to Great Wakering in late October 2019.
Goalkeeper
Callum Chafer (pictured) has also joined the Swifts.
Chafer
returned to Isthmian North champions Bowers & Pitsea in May 2019 from
Hornchurch.
He
was originally part of the Hornchurch youth set-up making his debut for the
Urchins in a League Cup tie in October 2014.
He
signed for Romford and then on to Bowers & Pitsea where he played a huge
part in their successful 2017/18 campaign as the club reached the play-offs
only to lose out to Canvey Island in the semi-finals.
He
signed for Hornchurch at the start of the 2018/19 season and had a superb
campaign, playing every minute of every game and making a number of crucial
saves throughout; saves that were key in ensuring the Urchins retained their Isthmian
Premier status.
He
also had short spells with Essex Senior Leaguers Redbridge and new Southern
League Division One Central outfit Hertford Town.
The
third `newcomer` is left-side defender Joe Claridge, who returns for a second
spell with the club.
The
26-year-old joined Vanarama National League South outfit Concord Rangers just a
week or two before the 2019/20 season, having played for Swifts during 2018/19.
The
former Maldon & Tiptree and AFC Sudbury player earned his stripes in the youth
programs at West Ham United and Chelsea and was snapped up by the Swifts prior
to the 2018/19 season.
He
moved to league rivals Coggeshall Town in November 2019.
Defender Jack Humphrey and forwards Jack Adlington
and Manny Osei have all, meanwhile, committed to another season with Swifts. |
