Whickham Bag Experienced Keeper

Northern League First Division club Whickham have signed experienced goalkeeper Jack Norton.

The 34-year-old joined Vanarama National League North side Spennymoor Town in September 2020 from Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One East club Marske United, where he had been since joining from Whitby Town in May 2019.

The shot-stopper played in League Two for Darlington and Dagenham & Redbridge.

After a break from the game through injury, a move to London saw him have spells with Hampton & Richmond Borough and then in League Two with Dagenham & Redbridge.

Short spells with Cray Wanderers, Witham Town and Brentwood Town followed before he took up an opportunity to play in Iceland with UMF Sindri.

He has also had spells with Gateshead, Blyth Spartans and Whitby and brings a wealth of high-level experience and professionalism to the dressing room and club.
