Joining Ben Acquaye from Kettering Town and Charlie Pattison from AFC Dunstable at The Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium is 20-year-old wide player Morgan Roberts following his release by League Two side Northampton Town.

Roberts joined the Cobblers academy at the age of 10 and made his first team debut against Oldham Athletic in the final game of the 2017/18 season, signing a three-year professional contract a few weeks later.

In his first season as a professional at Sixfields, he made a further 4 first team appearances.

In October 2019 he spent a month on loan with Banbury`s league rivals AFC Rushden & Diamonds before joining the Puritans on loan the following month.

Whilst at Banbury he made 11 appearances and scored 4 goals, prior to being recalled back from his loan and making 5 more first team appearances for the Cobblers.

Last season he added 7 more appearances to his name at Northampton and had a month on loan with Vanarama National League North side Brackley Town.

He was not offered a new professional contract by Northampton at the end of last season.

Manager Andy Whing told his club`s website: “This is a great signing for us and I’m sure the fans will be delighted to see Morgan back after he impressed on a loan spell a couple of seasons ago. Our attacking options look really promising now and Morgan adds great quality to that”.
